The End: Haunting, Awful, and Holy

AD

The Fury Lyrics

Where is the promise of His coming?
All things continue just as we desire
They have forgotten the ancient world
So once by water, now by fire

After seven years, No more tears

The fury waits above the sky
The Lord of hosts will purify
On wings of fire He will appear
As the end is drawing near

And if those days had not been shortened
No flesh would survive
He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked
But with their sin He will not strive

After seven years, No more tears

The fury waits above the sky
The Lord of hosts will purify
And His redeemed are justified
Their blood avenged and satisfied

The fury waits above the sky
The Lord of hosts will purify
He pours His wrath upon the earth
To His kingdom giving birth

The fury

Back in the mid 1980’s my cousin and I went to see AD in San Diego.  It was phenomenal.  I knew the story of Kerry Livgren of Kansas fame searching for the truth and eventually repenting and trusting in Jesus.  This happened while he was still with Kansas.  He then formed the group AD.  This song “The Fury” is off of the album “The Art of the State.”  I highly recommend the whole album to you.  It is musically excellent and lyrically awe-inspiring.  Kerry Livgren took his considerable God-given talents and channeled then in service to the King once the Holy Spirit drew him in and he believed and received Jesus.  I would encourage you to listen to the Fury on You Tube.  I listened and watched the accompanying video this morning:  The Fury – Kerry Livgren AD/Kansas, Storm Shelter Productions, uploaded on October 26, 2008.  I don’t know who is involved with Storm Shelter Productions but they did an excellent job pairing the music and lyrics with their video.  It is not some cheesy home studio job.  It is top quality.  Check  it out and see if you are as inspired as I was.
Peace,
Rev. Sparky
